Synopsis:
This is a story of DR ADAM JAMIL and his five sons, each with distinctive personalities and lifestyles, which unfolds into a tussle between love and loyalty. Since the death of his wife, MARIA, 10 years ago Dr Adam, a bio-technology scientist, has immersed himself in his work developing new vaccines for his pharmaceutical clients.
His eldest son, DANIAL, helps him at work and is married to ROZIE, the only woman living in the family bungalow. Dr Adam has a soft spot for his second son JIMMY who is also a scientist, because five years ago his fiance FIONA left him to marry his younger brother SAM who promptly left home to live separately from the family.
Ever since that incident, Dr Jalil has reminded his sons that they must respect each other and ensure loyalty amongst the family. This is immediately tested when EDDY, his fourth son, gradually becomes the emotional support for his younger brother’s girlfriend SOPHIA as JOHAN is attending university in Sabah.
One day Dr Adam receives news that his son Sam has gone bankrupt and in need of a place to stay. Sam is welcomed back to the house with his wife Fiona only to add salt to the unhealed wound for Jimmy whose unfaithful fiancé is now his sister-in-law.
MAYA, the university student tutoring DAFI, Danial’s son is approached by Dr Adam for his son Jimmy but Maya misunderstands and assumes that Dr Adam is attracted to her. Maya slowly finds herself infatuated with Dr Adam. As time passes, Jimmy starts to fall for Maya. At the same time, Dr Adam realizes that he is ready again for a relationship, and longs for companionship, something he seeks in Maya. Thus creating a love triangle which threatens the stability and harmony in the family.
Will Dr Adam stick to the family rules that he created to strengthen the family bond? Or will he himself go against it and loose the respect of his sons? Or will he sacrifice his love for Maya to make Jimmy happy?
It does not take long for Jimmy to realize his father’s true feelings for Maya. Jimmy immediately decides to get engaged with JULIA, a recent acquaintance. His act shocks everyone especially Maya who has started to admire him and is left heartbroken. She finds solace in Dr Adam.
A horrible tragedy unfolds as Dr Adam is accidentally shot trying to save his son Sam from some gangsters from a gambling syndicate. How will the five brothers react and support each other when faced with adversity? Or will selfish self interest unravel the family bond?
